A maquette is the artist’s rough working model for a sculpture, used to work out composition, pose, etc. Wallen sometimes finishes his maquettes to become small replicas of his monumental bronze sculptures. He has authorized an edition of 25 numbered maquettes for Spirit of the Rivers, each approx. 22 inches high.
